Everything That Went Down at Nike’s Future Sport Forum

As part of the New York Fashion Week festivities, Nike held a huge showcase called the Nike Future Sport Forum. Official competition apparel for basketball, track and field, and skateboarding was unveiled, giving a look at what athletes would be wearing at this summer’s Olympics Games in Tokyo.
Members of the Nike family of designers were abundant in attendance, including Yoon Anh of Ambush, Michael M Williams of ALYX, and Virgil Abloh of Off-White. Sports-inspired apparel collections made for Summer 2020 in collaboration with these designers were debuted, along with collection by Sacai and Jun Takahashi’s Undercover.
A bunch of upcoming footwear silhouette’s were unveiled, including an Ambush x Nike Dunk High, the Off-White x Nike Air Rubber Dunk, and the Nike Zoom MMW 4. Hiroshi Fujiwara was in attendance, seen pre-show wearing the fragment x Air Jordan 34, later switching to the fragment x Nike Air Force 1 High. Sustainability and sport was the main focus of the event, highlighted by the Space Hippie and new Nike Air Zoom footwear collections.

The event hosted an array of entertainers, celebrities, and designers, all specially-invited as members of the Nike family. Notable names include Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Rosalía, G-Dragon, Tom Sachs, Futura, and Jacquemus.
Outside of the event, Virgil Abloh and Matthew M Williams, both co-founders of the now-defunct Been Trill streetwear brand, were seen hanging out with a past Nike collaborator, Kanye West, who was also in New York during NYFW with Kim Kardashian to celebrate the launch of her Skims collection.
The Nike Future Sport Forum was more than just a NYFW runway show, it also showcased the growing number of Nike’s partners and collaborators. Check out more photos from the star-studded event below.
