Nike SB Turns the Air Max 95 Into a Skate Shoe
Nike SB is joining in on the 30th anniversary celebration of the Air Max 95 with its own skateable iteration of the iconic runner, set to debut in 2025.
Early samples of a “Cactus Flower” colorway of the Nike SB Air Max 95 have surfaced, featuring a color scheme reminiscent of the OG “Comet Red” Air Max 95 from 1995—though the red accents have been swapped out for a pinkish-purple hue. Nike SB branding appears on the heel spine, the shank plate on the outsole, and the insoles.
Two different sample versions of this “Cactus Flower” SB Air Max 95 have emerged. One comes with a leather toe cap featuring a debossed mini Swoosh, while the other features a suede toe cap with an embroidered mini Swoosh.
Aesthetically speaking, the SB version of the Air Max 95 is not much different from a standard pair, though we’re sure the shoe has been internally retooled for skate performance, such as with a lower footbed for a better board feel. A key visible change is the use of a flatter gum rubber outsole with added ridges for improved grip.
The Nike SB Air Max 95 “Cactus Flower” is slated to drop Fall 2025 on SNKRS and at select skates shops. Grab an early look below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
