Berlin’s PAN Records Gets Its Own Nike Air 180 Collab
Following the release of its collaboration with Apron Records, Nike continues its support of independent European record labels with the upcoming PAN x Nike Air 180.
Founded by Bill Kouligas in 2008, Berlin-based record label PAN has signed and distributed records by a number of acts including Yves Tumor, Amnesia Scanner, Anne Imhof, Arca, and Eartheater.
The PAN x Nike Air 180 comes in all-black, its textile uppers featuring a coated layering on the mudguard, adding extra protection so you can take them out to a rave without worrying about getting them dirty. The shoe forgoes the traditional Swooshes on the side panels, replaced with a mini Swoosh on the lateral in the coated zone near the toe and another mini Swoosh embroidered on the medial.
Another special feature is the graphic on the translucent outsoles of the god Pan from Greek mythology, who is often depicted as a goat-like creature playing a pan flute. This is the logo for PAN Records and is also featured on the shoe’s packaging.
The shoe also features “NIX” branding on the tongues and insoles. Not much is currently known about NIX. A link to the NIX Instagram page can be found in Bill Kouligas’s bio, but the account is private and has zero posts. Also, what exactly is going on in the heel? Is there something hiding back there?
The PAN x Nike Air 180 “NIX” drops April 12th on SNKRS in select regions. Check out the official images below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for more details.
