After introducing the silhouette earlier this year as a sequel to the Air Max Dn, Nike is now dropping a special “Snakeskin” edition of the Air Max Dn8 in celebration of Air Max Day.

The Air Max Dn8 “Snakeskin” features an all-over reptilian print as a nod to 2025 being the Year of the Snake. The print even extends onto the midsole, making this the first Dn8 colorway to stray from the usual solid-colored tooling. The midsole is equipped with eight pressurized Dynamic Air tubes—the namesake tech of this silhouette—which are tinted yellow on this colorway.

US release details for the Nike Air Max Dn8 “Snakeskin” have yet to be announced. However, these have popped up on SNKRS in Europe with a March 26th release date to coincide with Air Max Day. The Air Max Day release on SNKRS in the US is the Air Max 1 “Big Head Origins,” which won’t drop in Europe until April. This may indicated that the Air Max Dn8 “Snakeskin” will have a similar staggered release.

Nike officially launched Air Max Day as an annual celebration on March 26th in 2014, marking the “anniversary” of the original Air Max 1’s release in 1987. In reality, pairs of the Air Max 1 hit the market in late 1986 (hence the name Air Max 1 ’86 for the “Big Bubble” version). As the Air Max 1 did not have a defined release date, Air Max Day is celebrated on March 26th, the anniversary of the first Air Max commercial.
