Nike Air Max 1 “Big Head Mode” Pays Homage to ‘GoldenEye 007’
Nike’s .SWOOSH division continues its run of retro video game-inspired Air Max 1s. Following the Tomb Raider-inspired “Adventure” Air Max 1 and Donkey Kong-inspired “Big Head Origins,” the upcoming “Big Head Mode” colorway pays homage to a 1997 N64 classic, GoldenEye 007.
In GoldenEye 007, “Big Head” mode, also known as “DK Mode,” is a cheat that makes enemies and Bond’s head larger, which can be helpful for one-shot headshots. The “Big Head Mode” Air Max 1 comes in a black and white color scheme, inspired by the tux worn by secret agent James Bond, while golden accents represent the game’s strongest weapon, the Golden Gun. On the heels, we see Nike Air branding with red and blue bars on the side, a direct nod to the health and armor bars that pop up when James Bond takes damage or pulls out his watch.
This upcoming colorway has made its debut on Fortnite, available as in-game kicks that you can purchase for your avatar. This marks the first time that a shoe has debuted on the Fortnite Item Shop before its physical reveal.
The .SWOOSH Nike Air Max 1 “Big Head Mode” is slated to drop in the coming weeks on SNKRS. Grab a first look below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
