Travis Scott, Drake & More Celebrate Nike JDI Day 2022

Nike’s JDI (Just Do It) Day was launched in 2018 on the 30th anniversary of the brand’s iconic “Just Do It” campaign. The company holiday was created to celebrate Nike employees, bringing them together for special events at Nike’s global headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, and at Nike locations around the world.

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, JDI Day returned in 2022, just in time for Nike’s 50th anniversary celebrations. On Thursday, many Nike athletes and collaborators gathered at WHQ for the event, from Nike SB skaters like Eric Koston and Rayssa Leal, to NBA stars like Carmelo Anthony and Jayson Tatum, to hip-hop superstars like Travis Scott and Drake.

The celebration culminated with the 2022 Nike Maxim Awards Show, hosted by Drake and featuring live performance by Travis Scott. The ceremony honors the excellence of NIKE, Inc.—the teams and projects that best embody Nike’s values and drive the business, brand, and purpose forward.

The stars used JDI Day as an excuse to set some serious heat on their feet. Prior to his performance, Travis Scott took part in a kickball game, shaking the unreleased colorways of the Cactus Jack x Air Jordan 1 Low. Drake was seen wearing his Zoom Flight 95-style NOCTA shoes, a never-before-seen red colorway. Russell Westbrook walked the red carpet wearing a Nu Retro Jordan 1 Low, almost confirming our reports of its return.
