Original Story (12/27/21): Nike will celebrate Cortez’s 50th anniversary in 2022. We’ve got a teaser of Swoosh’s upcoming Union x Nike Cortez. Another major collaborator, Chitose Abe’s sacai, will also release their rendition of the classic model.

Nike Cortez was launched in 1972 and was designed by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman. It was Nike’s first track shoe, making it an important style in the company’s history. Chitose Abe’s sacai will launch its own version of Cortez in 2022, with design details including double Swoosh, double laces, double tongue and double stacked midsole, with Zoom Air visible on the outside of the forefoot.

Update (08/23/22): sacai x Nike Zoom Cortez officially launched an OG-inspired white/red colorway in stores and online via sacai on Tuesday, August 30. The shoe will also be available worldwide on Wednesday, August 31 at SNKRS and select retailers. The gray colorway will be released at a later date. Check out the official images below.
