Original Story (07/22/22): One of the most famous launches of 2021 was the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “Wave” series. The shoe comes in four colorways, and several more have now been added. Following the fifth white colorway, let’s now take a look at the sixth colorway.

The sixth item in the Patta Air Max 1 “Wave” collection features a mix of colors found in the previous colorway. The upper is crafted from burnt orange leather, a nod to the orange ‘Monarch’ colorway, with extra burnt orange pops on the laces and tongue and lips. The magenta hue on the insole is similar to the “Rush Maroon” colorway, while the teal pop on the heel embroidery, insole, and top eyelet is from “Noise Aqua.” Finally, the outsole and tongue tabs are in black, a nod to the black Patta Air Max 1.

Update (08/08/22):Patta has announced the release of this Air Max 1, officially known as “Dark Russet”. This is one of two colorways introduced in Patta’s “The Next Wave” campaign, inspired by the African proverb “Each One Teach One” and Patta’s relentless vision of creating a connected, thriving Patta community around the world.

In the spirit of the series, Patta will host a 2-day mentorship exchange at the Nike SHAPA Soweto Community Centre in Johannesburg. “SHAPA provides a safe space for the next generation of athletes and leaders. Communicating through Patta Academy, we are excited to collaborate and connect with some of the brightest kids on the continent through SHAPA,” said Gee Schmidt, co-founder of Patta.
