Original Story (06/13/22):G-Dragon has been pushing the boundaries of Korean culture with the West and is easily considered a major pioneer in Korean music, fashion, and design. At the end of 2019, the Korean icon will go on to launch a pair of Air Force 1s called “Para-Noise” with Nike. This is arguably one of the best Air Force 1s released that year, with a design philosophy that pushes the boundaries to include a detached lacquered upper and a hidden design underneath.

Soon after, Nike gave G-Dragon a chance to design his own iconic model, the Kwondo 1. The silhouette expands on the inspiration of Korean culture, with a design reminiscent of wingtip oxfords, paying homage to the football and golf trainer aesthetic.

In G-Dragon’s latest collaboration with Nike, the Kwondo 1 features a “panda” color scheme that highlights its already official design. The upper has a white base with black accents on the wingtips, eyelets, and heel. Black also extends to the midsole Swoosh and detachable lace covering. The lace guard on the left side is embellished with PEACEMINUSONE branding, and the right side is embellished with Nike branding. The Kwondo 1 ‘Panda’ has the PEACEMINUSONE Daisy logo stitched on the heel and matching flowers embossed on the outsole.
