Now that Vanessa Bryant and Nike have reached an agreement, the Nike Kobe Protro series can continue where it left off in 2021. Last year, to commemorate the silhouette’s 10th anniversary, Kobe 6 colorways such as “All-Star” and “POP” returned. Another Kobe 6 that is now expected to get Protro treatment is the “Prelude”.

The Kobe 6 “Prelude” was one of eight Kobe styles in the 2014 “Prelude Pack”, which was released ahead of the global launch of the Kobe 9 Elite. Each pair pays homage to one of Kobe Bryant’s career highlights, with Kobe Bryant’s 6 inspired by the All-Star MVP status he won at home in Los Angeles. The design of this shoe features Venice Beach-inspired artwork, with marine life such as fish, octopus, and sharks depicted throughout the upper. The upcoming version of Protro will be a reissue of the 2014 version, albeit with a slight update to modern Nike basketball technology.
