Nike Air Force 1 “West Indies” Release Date

Original Story (07/06/22): In 2002, Nike launched the Air Force 1 “West Indies” in celebration of the West Indies Day Parade Carnival held every year on the first Monday of September in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. In the years that followed, four different colorways were released between 2002 and 2005. It has now been revealed that Nike will be bringing back the OG 2002 colorway to celebrate its 20th anniversary and the 40th anniversary of the Air Force 1.

The original “West Indies” Air Force 1 featured a classic white-on-white color scheme with the addition of green on the heel, insole, tongue tag, and outsole. The decisive feature is the West Indies logo embroidered on the side of the heel in Carribean colors: red, green and yellow. The West Indies brand also appears on tongue tags, lace dubraes, while the insoles feature graphics listing all the small island nations of the Caribbean. The 2022 version is the same as the OG 2002 version, except that the “Anniversary Edition” text has been added to the tongue label.

Ahead of this year’s West India Day parade, the 2022 Nike Air Force 1 “West Indies” will be available at SNKRS and select retailers. Take a sneak peek below, and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
