Original Story (04/06/22): froSkate is a Chicago-based skateboarding group founded in 2019 by Karlie Thornton when she and a few friends, all black female novice skaters, came together so they wouldn’t have to learn to skate alone. Since then, froSkate has grown to become an inclusive beacon for Chicago’s male-dominated skateboarding community and a safe space for all, namely BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and TQGNC (Transgender, Queer, and Gender Nonconforming) people.

froSkate is now getting its own Nike SB Dunk High collaboration. The shoe is set on a white leather base and embossed with the collective’s ‘All Love No Hate’ message on the quarter-panel. This message also appears on the right tongue label, while the froSkate brand appears on the left tongue. The overlay has a mix of red, golden yellow, green, and teal. The colors also adorn the tongue, graphic insole, graphics visible through a translucent outsole, and five sets of laces (one set of each color, one set of white, with the message “All Love No Hate”). Other details include heart-shaped perforations on the toe box and quilted insole.
