Nike Kobe 4 “Gold Medal” Returns for Summer Olympics

The 2024 Olympics are finally here. Top athletes from around the world are gathering in Paris to compete on sport’s biggest stage, and fans are excited to see which ones will be taking home the gold.

Joining the long list of Olympic-themed sneakers releasing for the festivities is the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Gold Medal.” This shoe originally released in 2009, a year after Kobe Bryant led the USA Basketball “Redeem Team” to a gold medal win at the Summer Games in Beijing.

The legacy of the Black Mamba continues with a re-release of this iconic colorway. Gold hits cover the toe box, ankle collar, and heel, while the rest of the shoe features a USA-themed color scheme. Quarter panels come in white, blue on the tongues and Swooshes, and red accents can be found on the Swoosh and laces.

Special features include Kobe Bryant’s Olympic jersey number, 10, debossed on the heels, and Olympic medal graphics on the insoles with the date “08.24.08,” the day Kobe won his first gold medal. Coincidentally, this date would become known as Kobe Bryant Day.

The Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Gold Medal” drops August 6th on SNKRS and at select retailers. Check out the official images below.
